At the age of 8, I started my dance journey under the guidance of Mary Bradfield; taking ballet and tap classes. I quickly fell in love with everything about dancing and gracefully started to take as many classes as I could at Diamond State Dancers. Cheryl Armstrong was the dance teacher that helped grow the love of learning, performing and sharing my passion with the next generation.

My dance education has taken me on many memorable adventures; including classes at Philadelphia’s renowned Koresh Dance Company, attending The Pulse Tour in New York City and venturing to Scottsdale, AZ, to grow as an educator, at Rhee Gold's DanceLife Teacher Conference.

Throughout my 22 year teaching career, I have been lucky enough to have taught dancers at Diamond State Dancers, Precision Dance Center, Deena's School of Dance, KMC Dance, and DreamChasers Gymnastics; just to name a few!

As I enter my 23rd year as a dance instructor trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and musical theater genres; I am extremely proud to open Studio Starr and have the legacy start now.

When I am not being called “Miss Amy”, I am blessed to be called Mama by my amazing children - Gianna, Vinny and Dominic - and/or Mama Amy by the rest of “my kids.”
